Concert by Norwegian Musicians at the Bazeos Tower in Naxos.
Both the people of Naxos and the numerous visitors who will choose the island for the three-day Holy Spirit holiday will have the opportunity to attend a special concert.
In the framework of the cooperation between the Norwegian Institute of Athens and the AION Cultural Organization, three Norwegian musicians give a particularly atmospheric concert at the Bazeos Tower in Naxos, on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at 9:00 PM.
The musical trio consists of: Gunn Kristin Aune soprano, Keith Griggs piano and Gunn Steinstad trumpet. Their program includes works from the Baroque period to contemporary music, with pieces by Handel and Purcell, traditional Norwegian melodies, songs by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, as well as contemporary melodies.
In 2007, the centenary of Grieg’s death is commemorated worldwide.
The concert, which takes place with free admission in the courtyard of the beautifully restored 17th-century tower, is under the auspices of the Royal Norwegian Embassy and inaugurates the long-term archaeological program of the Norwegian Institute of Athens, in Naxos.
